Background

Mike has 39 years' experience in tech and FS, having been Global Head of Fixed Income and the City’s first Global Head of Risk at Kleinwort Benson. An independent for 24 years operating in the startup and incumbent worlds of FS as entrepreneur, independent consultant and Host of the London Fintech Podcast Europe’s longest running podcast. He is author of “The Realpolitik Of The Unlisted Company Board - Making Your Board An Engine Of Growth” and mentors both Founders and NEDs.

NED & Board Advisory Experience:

Mike has been a Director for over 35 years and has advised all scales of company Boards from startups through to incumbent FS institutions. He has been an Advisory Director for leading Fintechs (everything from strategy brainstorming to network introductions), Non-executive director for RPT One Ltd, as well as being Chair of Risk Committee and responsible for all risk governance. Mike has interviewed over 100 Founders, Chairmen, NEDs, Angels and VCs on how best to leverage the Board and make it an engine of growth to really drive a company forwards. Mike is a mentor at Barclays Rise.
