Based on the 16 personality types theory, So Syncd is the first dating app to connect compatible personality types. By pairing couples who have just enough similarities to understand each other and just enough differences to create a spark, we help you find that exciting, meaningful relationship that you’ve been looking for. Founded by sisters Jessica and Lou Alderson, SoSyncd successfully raised through the Connectd platform in 2021.
“Connected is the only platform that I've actually enjoyed using and I've had success with. The other fundraising platforms I joined were not personalised at all and just felt very generic. But with Connectd it felt much more personal - it’s the only one that I recommend to people.”
I'm Jessica Alderson, the CEO and co-founder of So Syncd, which is a dating app that matches compatible personality types. I co-founded the company with my sister, Lou, because we saw that the dating apps that existed just didn't work, people weren't finding people that they were truly connecting with. So we set up So Syncd to create a more fun, meaningful and successful way to date.
The main reason for me joining connected was access to capital and to build my network. We already had a good number of advisors but I joined Connected at the time we were raising our first funding round, and Connectd helped us bring on board one of our most supportive and biggest investors.
Connectd has helped our business in terms of accessing capital, accessing advice, and it's also helped me build my network. When we started raising our first funding round, I wasn't that involved in the startup ecosystem. I didn't know that many other founders that many investors and Connected really helped me get my foot in the door. My experience with Connectd has been hugely positive; everyone that I've talked to has a deep understanding of what we're doing and what we need and they know exactly how to help.
I would describe Connectd as collaborative, supportive and community-led. Connectd has been super supportive in getting our name out there as a business - when we're featured in certain press articles Connectd often shares them which has been a great experience.
I joined a number of fundraising platforms and Connectd is the only platform that I've actually enjoyed using and I've had success with. The other fundraising platforms I joined were not personalised at all and just felt very generic. But with Connectd it felt much more personal - it’s the only one that I recommend to people.
In terms of us growing as a company, we are very focused on growing in America right now, and that will remain the focus for at least the next two years. We're also really keen to add a feature that enables people to find friends as well as dates, because that's something that our user base clearly want.
